READ MY MIND: LA LIGA IS HEATING UP!

If we just look at the La Liga results and standings, we would be tempted to say: One more game played, no changes at all. But the top-two Spanish teams had a pretty difficult evening and had to sweat blood and tears to stay within reach of each other.

Barça had a tough match at home against Xerez, one of the poorest Spanish sides this season. The Catalan’s manager, Pep Guardiola, chose to rest Messi, Pique and Pedro ahead of their massive game against Inter Milan next Wednesday. And, let’s face it, the current European Champions lack some of their magic when the little Argentinian isn’t there! Despite that fact, the champions got the lead thanks to Jeffren – another wonder-kid who has made it through the Barça ranks- and Henry. Xerez managed to pull one back shortly after, but the Catalans controlled the game well until the final whistle, with Ibrahimovic netting yet another goal. This 3-1 win allows Barça to focus in their huge game against Inter on Wednesday.

Real Madrid didn’t have an easy ride at Zaragoza either, but also managed to grab the 3 points at the Romareda stadium. After a goalless first half, the game was tied 1-1 after goals by Raul -yes, he is still alive – and Colunga. With just 8 minutes to go, Kaka shot past Roberto after a good individual effort. The Brazilian playmaker, who has been criticized by the Madrid-based media all season, has proven he is not such a waste of space after all!

With just four more matches to be played. who do YOU think has the best chance of winning the La Liga title?
