READ MY MIND: BARÇA’S SHORT GIANTS

Pep Guardiola is a clever guy, no doubt about that. He has managed to create a group of players that are almost invincible. FC Barcelona’s stats in La Liga show that the Catalans have won over 80%, drawn 17% and lost only 3% of their La Liga games this season. Impressive!

He has managed to do this by making all players feel important, have a chance to show their talents and, if they performed well, they have kept their place in the team. That is how Pedro has stablished himself in the starting 11: Playing much better than Henry throughout the season.

One of the main rules in football managing is there is no reason to change what works well. Barça have only struggled in games when their passing speed and general match pace was lacking: Look at the second game against Inter Milan – The Italians covered all spaces well and stopped our strikers from running through their defensive line.

I have no doubt in my mind that Zlatan Ibrahimovic tries his best whenever he plays: He has scored 16 goals and given 7 assists in La Liga so far. Considering it is only his first season at FCB, these numbers don’t look that ugly. But I feel that the team needs extra speed if we want to win the 2 games remaining in the championship. After all, Guardiola has always played whoever is on top form, whatever their names were.

I am convinced Guardiola will use 3 forwards against Sevilla tomorrow. And the choice must be Messi, Pedro and Bojan (The 3 Short Giants!) – Krkic and PR17 give our team much more mobility on the wings, they are always a valid option for Xavi in midfield. And, with Super Leo, we have that spark of magic that only the best player in the world can bring.

Força Barça!
