According to his agent, Eric Abidal is finding it hard to reach an agreement to renew his Barça contract: 'Negotiations are stopped at the moment'
'There are two or three points we need to sort out. It's best to give each other time to think about this, there's no rush. Abidal feels he owes Barcelona and the fans a lot due to their support but agreeing a new contract is a different matter'
- I understand Eric feels he deserves a good wage following his form (which was unreal before the operation, the best I've seen in years). On the other hand though, he's now 32 years old and needs to understand he's not a youngster anymore...
I would keep his current salary and offer him one more season, expandable to two, conditional to appearances.
Would you be happy with that?
