Nowadays, it is impossible to understand the history of Barça without our majestic Camp Nou stadium. But we haven’t always played here, you know?
FC Barcelona’s current stadium was officially opened on 1957 after our previous home pitch (Estadi De Les Corts) run out of room for expansion.
To me, our Barça stadium is a temple, a place of worship. I have spent many years of my life here. I have laughed, shouted, celebrated but also cried.
Legends such as Cruyff, Kubala, Guardiola, Ronaldinho and now Xavi, Iniesta, Puyol and Messi have all gone from boys to men here.
What I feel when I buy a ticket for an FC Barcelona game at the Camp Nou is equivalent to what Ancient Romans would have felt to see a bloody gladiator battle.
