ONE YEAR ON FROM SPAIN/BARÇA WORLD CUP WIN

One year ago today, the Spanish National Team achieved what many believed was impossible: Winning the FIFA World Cup after a tremendous display of attacking football.

The team was based around Pep Guardiola’s Barça, with Xavi and Iniesta leading the midfield, Puyol and Pique protecting the back and Villa upfront scoring the goals when it mattered the most.

Busquets made a name for himself by stealing more balls than Paul The Octopus, Pedro was the spark that ignited the semifinals and Valdes was not given a chance to play as Del Bosque preferred Casillas.

All in all, a victory for Spain with a clear Blaugrana flavour.
