Jeffren: 'Sporting Lisboa is a great club where I can play regularly'

Jeffren Suarez is about to close his transfer to Sporting Lisboa from FC Barcelona for the next 5 seasons for a 5MILLeu transfer fee

The contract with the Portuguese club hasn't been officially signed yet, but Barça are believed to have included an 8MILLeu buyback clause at the end of the 2013/14 season.

Jeffren: 'I will give my all for Sporting Lisboa. I have high hopes for the next stage of my football career. Sporting is a great club where I can have the regular playing time that I've been lacking at Barça. I can also challenge to win trophies'

- While it's always sad to see a La Masia player leave the club, it is best for both parts that Jeffren leaves the Camp Nou. At 23 years of age, spending another year sitting on the bench would have been seriously painful for his future.

Still, if he explodes in Portugal we can buy him back in 2 years! Clever move, Zubizarreta!

WHAT DO YOU THINK OF JEFFREN'S TRANSFER TO SPORTING LISBOA?

It is similar situation to that of Bojan. Both were not realising their potential due to a lack of playing time. It is not out of the question that both could return to Barca in a few years time.
