Leo Messi, stronger after disappointment >> Read My Mind

Just when most thought he couldn't get any better, Messi has proved everyone wrong and come back stronger after a difficult summer..

Yes, Leo's last season was unbelievable and key to Barca winning our 4th Champions League. I am still trying to catch my breath after his genius goal against Arsenal or his double at the Bernabeu in the semis, not to mention his cracker past Van Der Saar in the final!!

After another successful year at the Camp Nou, he had high hopes to win the Copa America with Argentina this summer and finally return La Albiceleste to its former glory. Despite being their best player, Messi failed to lift the trophy in what can only be seen as another wasted chance for his generation.

Putting all this behind him and despite the disappointment, Leo has come back stronger than ever and his numbers so far this season are already extraterrestrial:

Messi has scored 6 and assisted in 4 of the 12 Barca goals so far this season, which means 85% of our goals come from him. He's scored every 60 minutes!!!

Since his Barca debut, Messi has netted 186 goals, 101 of those in the Camp Nou. He's scored 39 doubles, 9 hat-tricks and even a POKER!!!

Messi has found the net in 126 matches which have translated into 111 FC Barcelona wins, 13 draws and only 2 losses.

And these are only numbers: His mere pressence on the pitch terrorises rival defenses, with the opposition knowing they will be in constant state of alert from the initial whistle.

Lionel Andres Messi: The greatest football player the world has ever seen!!!!

  2. Well said. Leo's indeed come back stronger and a changed man. The Copa and the failure there (like Masche said, it was a failure of the team, not of Leo) had a profound effect on him, and he's grown into a leader. He's still the spellbinding footballer that he was, but more complete and mentally stronger than ever. His dear friend Masche handed him the captain's armband for La Albiceleste and I have no doubt that he will be a captain like Maradona for his team; someone who will inspire them, carry them and fire them to glory. Masche was a wonderful captain and he lead by example, and is perhaps the best person in football (I certainly think so), but a team of alpha males like Argentina need someone of a different mentality and a talent that's out of this world to be their captain. Now, Messi is ready.

Vamos La Pulga! <3 Aguante Argentina!
