Hi Dani,
First of all I want to tell you that I shall miss you very much. I blame myself not having insisted on seeing us more often and to talk more often. One does not understand the idea that life can be so unfair to leave without a friend like you. However, I am happy not having stolen that time that you have spent with your beloved family and wife.
I stand by so many times that we lived together, the talks we had at concentrations above things outside football. Since the parties in lower grades, when we agreed on the Catalan team in the Under-15 and U-17 when we won the gold in the European Under-19, rating with the Under-21 and all derbies we have shared and the first team.
Before traveling to the U.S. tour, where we reported sad news, I went through my shirt I have saved and including at least 20 of yours. Whenever we changed shirts, I wanted to have yours every year, in the first leg and in the back.
We have been rivals but I’ve always appreciated your heart. When asked about your team, RCD Espanyol, I always say the same thing: At Espanyol I have great friends and a very special one, and that’s on top of any rivalry.
I’ll miss you, Dani, a lot. The next derby will be difficult. I know that wherever you go always take care of you, your family and your team push hard.

Hola Dani,
Antes que nada quiero decirte que te echaré mucho de menos. Me reprocho a mi mismo no haber insistido en vernos más veces y poder conversar más a menudo. Uno no se hace a la idea que la vida pueda ser tan injusta como para dejarte sin un amigo como tú. Sin embargo, me alegro de no haberte robado ese tiempo que seguro has aprovechado con tu familia y tu mujer que es lo que más querías y sigues queriendo.
Me quedo con tantos y tantos momentos que hemos vivido juntos, las charlas que teníamos en las concentraciones sobre cosas ajenas al fútbol. Desde los partidos en categorías inferiores, cuando hemos coincidido en la selección catalana, en la Sub-15 y la Sub-17, cuando ganamos el oro del europeo Sub-19, la clasificación con la Sub-21 y todos los derbis que hemos compartido ya en el primer equipo.
Antes de viajar a la gira americana, donde nos informaron de tan triste noticia, repasé mis camisetas guardadas y entre ellas tengo por lo menos 20 tuyas. Siempre nos la cambiábamos porque era la tuya la que quería tener cada año, tanto en el partido de ida como en el de vuelta.
Hemos sido rivales pero siempre te he apreciado de corazón. Cuando me preguntan por tu equipo, el RCD Espanyol de Barcelona, siempre digo lo mismo: en el Espanyol tengo grandes amigos, y uno muy especial, y eso está por encima de cualquier rivalidad.
Te echaré de menos, Dani, mucho. El próximo derbi será difícil. Allá donde estés sé que cuidarás siempre de los tuyos, de tu familia y que empujarás fuerte a tu equipo.
