Why Cesc Fabregas should NOT play against Real Madrid on Wednesday

What a day!!! After finalising the transfer of the century (as that seems to be how long it took for it to be completed), Cesc Fabregas landed at the Camp Nou in the morning, rushed off to training shortly after and now many Barça demand he faces Real Madrid on Wednesday – I disagree.

Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed my morning at the Camp Nou to see The Fab4 kicking the ball a few times, speaking to us in the crowd for about 2 minutes, then disappearing – Driving out of Barcelona city centre after 35,000 people turned up was not that enjoyable but the bottom line is: Was it worth it? Hell yeah, the kid is back home and I saw him with my very own eyes!!!

While I was sitting in the Camp Nou stands under a ‘pleasant’ 35°C degree heat, I heard a young girl ask her father whether Cesc would play against Real Madrid or not. Daddy answered: ‘Whatever Pep decides’

That sentence sums up the Cule feeling at the moment: Pep Guardiola knows best. He has been so successful over recent years that fans simply respect his decisions purely based on his remarkable achievements and charisma.

If it was up to me though, I’d leave Fabregas sitting on the bench. Yes, he’s a star signing but players like Xavi, Iniesta, Thiago or Busquets are more familiar with our system and are more than capable of managing our midfield without the newcomer. Plus, Cesc has such a heavy pricetag that it just wouldn’t make sense to risk him being critisized by the fans in case Barça gets a bad result.

GUARDIOLA: LET’S STICK TO OUR REGULAR FORMATION THAT HAS BEEN SO SUCCESSFUL IN RECENT YEARS, GIVE CESC FABREGAS TIME TO ADAPT BEFORE USING HIM!!!!
