With a single goal and playing 11 against 10 and you still can’t get the second, you play with a bit of fear because you feel you have to get that second. – Every top team or sportsman around the world has dips in form, regardless of the sport. Look at the current LA Lakers, Rafa Nadal or Fernando Alonso. They undoubtedly have the class to win it all but there are many factors that can affect the outcome of a sporting season.
In Barça’s case, I feel it’s a matter of extraordinarily high fan expectation which is directly caused by our recent success. If Messi doesn’t score for 3 matches, it seems worse than a bloody Alien Invasion – Give the guy a break!
Let’s take things one step at a time: Teams play football to win matches. As far as I know, we WON the game against Granada. Maybe not in the normal impressive fashion, but it doesn’t matter that much – nobody will remember how our 99 (or however many we get) points were won if we lift the La Liga trophy.
