Mascherano: ‘Looking at how Guardiola has used me, he seems to prefer me at centre half, rather than in the middle. Maybe that’s down to the injuries we’ve had at the back. I just try and do my best – I know I have a few problems-it’s not my natural position, I’m not that tall, but I try and overcome that by trying to combine commitment and concentration. – Signing Mascherano is one of the best decisions FC Barcelona have taken in recent history. Having a player of his calibre, charisma and commitment can only be understood as a total success.
I have to say I agree with Guardiola: Muscle Masche is better in defense than in midfield, he’s better suited to the Barça formation there.
As for Messi missing that penalty, I’m not fussed: He’ll survive, Cule fans will make sure he feels their support to lift him back up.
