David Villa: Please don’t rush back!!! >> Read My Mind

Villa: ‘My head has been recovering for two hours. I’ll start to rehabilitate this leg soon. I’m really looking forward to getting well so I can return and fight on the pitch’

Villa: ‘My head has been recovering for two hours. I’ll start to rehabilitate this leg soon. I’m really looking forward to getting well so I can return and fight on the pitch’

Villa: ‘With a lot of work and with people’s help, you’ll see me on the football field soon, enjoying myself like I did before’

Dr Cugat, FC Barcelona’s doctor: ‘Villa’s options of playing this season are small but we can’t dismiss the possibility. It’s close, but there is a possibility of him coming back seeing that eagerness and state of mind are very important factors. David feels upbeat and he hopes to be ready for the Champions League final and the Euro Championship. He will set the deadlines’

Dr Cugat: ‘He had the spirit to heal immediately and that’s good. His emotional state is perfect’

– Being injured is the worst feeling in the world. Talking from experience, I know the fact you see your teammates giving everything on the pitch while you sit on the stands, helpless, can kill you inside. Staying positive through tough times is key.

In those situations, having a target, a deadline can only help the recovery process. But a rushed decision can prove dangerous in the long run.

It is obvious El Guaje is eager to play the Euro 2012 and the Champions League final at Munich but, ultimately, it must be the doctor’s decision which matters the most. We all know what happened to Fernando Torres when he rushed fitness ahead of the World Cup finals back in 2010…

Plus, as I explained in this previous article, I feel the depth of our FC Barcelona squad can cover his absence.

GUAJE: WE ALL WANT YOU TO RECOVER, BUT PLEASE DON’T RUSH BACK!!!!!
