The match started very poorly, with Higuain missing the clearest chance in football history, then Pinto making a couple of good saves. The first half was tough until Xavi, Busquets and Iniesta started combining well in midfield, around the 30th minute.
Iniesta then pulled his hamstring for the THIRD time this season, his fourth injury since the summer. Pedro substituted him, then scored, but you can’t deny Barça is a much weaker team without El Blanquito Blaugrana. Get well soon, Andres!!!
Pepe was not the only violent player today, with Ramos, Lass, Alonso and Coentrao joining the ‘Lets-Kill-Messi’ club at different stages. It’s ridiculous that, out of those players, only El Tonto Ramos got sent off, especially Lass after his kung-fu tackle on La Pulga.
Alves murdered Casillas with a legendary strike just before halftime, but the game wasn’t over.
Real Madrid continued to fight and used a couple of Blaugrana concentration lapses to draw the match 2-2. We need to be more awake and determined to keep the advantage next time. Despite Madrid’s efforts, and violent gameplan, the result didn’t change until the final whistle came.
A hard-fought battle which, again, FC BARCELONA managed to win. It’s obvious Madrid was better today than in previous Clasicos, but don’t forget the fact that WE won it playing real football, not Kick-Boxing.
Plus, we don’t have to see Pepe wearing our glorious Blaugrana shirt – Unfortunately for Madridistas, they have to ‘defend’ him every week.
