El Clasico de Copa: Barça can teach Madrid another lesson >> Read My Mind

Pique: ‘In a match between Barca and Madrid there are no favourites, it does not matter how they have been performing. We will go to the Santiago Bernabeu to try to win and get the best possible result’

Pique: ‘In a match between Barca and Madrid there are no favourites, it does not matter how they have been performing. We will go to the Santiago Bernabeu to try to win and get the best possible result’

Pique: ‘This is what the draw decided, we are going to have to prepare very well, as we always do, and try to reach the semi-finals and win the tournament’

Mascherano: ‘In games like El Clasico against Real Madrid it doesn’t usually matter what form the teams are in. In a two-legged match you have to be cautious about who might be in form or not. The most important thing is to do well on the two match days, especially knowing that the first game is at the Bernabéu and they will want to bring a lead to the Camp Nou. I have no doubt that the first leg will have a huge impact on the tie’

Mascherano: ‘We know each other too well, small details will decide the game. I think we are both in the same situation, trying to qualify for a semi final against our biggest rival. This is a very important game’

Mascherano: ‘Who wouldn’t be grateful for playing in a match that everybody is watching? Barça and Madrid are the two best teams in the world, I’m lucky to be here. I’d like to play because it’ll mean I’ll be part of something that will always be remembered, that’s nice for me. Those of us who can enjoy games like this are the chosen ones’

Casillas: ‘When there are few El Clasicos it’s fine, but when there are too many you get tired, it loses its appeal. In my opinion, as we’ve played so many times against Barcelona, it sometimes feels a little repetitive’

Mourinho: ‘I won’t waste a second thinking about Barça’

– Here we go again: Destiny seems determined to give us as many Clasicos as possible in modern times, in what can only be a true reflection of both teams performing well on the pitch, beating all other rivals in the process.

As a true Cule fan, I couldn’t be happier: Defeating Real Madrid is one of the greatest rushes of euphoria one can experience. In that respect, the more the better. You may argue there may come a point Madrid may defeat us. Fair enough, but the eagerness for success is worth taking the risk.

I find it hilarious to hear Casillas and Mourinho playing the importance of this match down, as if they had better things to do now they are leading La Liga. They failed to mentioned that, if their advantage is 5 points at this stage, it’s only because of FC Barcelona’s poor away form. Plus, and just in case those two Madridistas forgot, the last El Clasico ended with a glorius 1-3 in our favour.

We beat Los Blancos a month ago, we can do it again. No big deal. In The Pep Team we trust. Our players have earned our respect and never let us down in big matches. Bring it on!!!
