A very poor first half from the Blaugranas. Guardiola introduced many changes to his preferred lineup, giving many players a chance to prove their worth: Not working too well at the start, with Los Rojos De Pamplona having up to 8 clear shots on goal during the first 45 minutes.
To make things worse, our young defender Andreu Fontas suffered a very unfortunate knee injury which will most definitely rule him our for the rest of the season – GET BETTER SOON!!!!
Our manager must have had some strong words during the halftime break, causing our team to pick up some of their missing spark. Our players started passing better in midfield, trying to play the ball quicker. Alexis got the first goal as a result, thanks to a superb cross from Adriano.
As usual, Messi insisted on playing regardless of the importance of the result, giving our FC Barcelona team a visible boost in terms of quality. Shortly after, La Pulga stepped on the accelerator and created the winner for teenager Sergi Roberto.
All in all, a 1-2 away win, a combined 1-6 score, and we are qualified for the next round. End of story. And yes, you know who we are facing next: Real Madrid, in what will be another titanic Clasico battle.
