Soriano, not a rushed signing, should replace David Villa >> Read My Mind

Guardiola: ‘Jonathan Soriano could be a good replacement for David Villa, he is one of the possibilities we’re looking at’

Guardiola: ‘But the downside is that if we promote him to first team, there’s no going back for him. He has shown that he can play in the first division, and he deserves a chance after all he’s done at Barça B, he has a lot of potential, he fits into the team well’

Guardiola: ‘We have three weeks to decide. We’ll see how this month goes, and how he adjusts to things’

– Promoting Jonathan Soriano? I’d like to see it happening. The guy has been fantastic since he joined our reserve team from rivals Espanyol back in 2009, scoring a whooping 57 goals in 81 appearances. At 26 years old, he has to get the big break soon. For him, it’s now or never.

What I really wouldn’t like to see is a rushed January transfer, Maxi Lopez style. If Soriano isn’t promoted, I’d save my money and trust the current squad to cover for El Guaje Villa. I’d wait for Afellay to recover and give Pedro, Cuenca, Iniesta, Cesc or even Adriano the chance to partner Messi upfront in the meantime.

JONATHAN SORIANO: A VALID OPTION TO REPLACE DAVID VILLA, PLEASE DON’T WASTE MONEY SIGNING ANYBODY!!!!!!
