FC Barcelona lost 3-2 at Osasuna. Alexis and Tello scored the Barça goals.

Match Report:

Guardiola’s Barça have dropped 3 crucial points at the Reyno De Navarra after losing to Osasuna 3-2. Alexis and Tello scored for Los Blaugranas.

The game started disastrously with Lekic taking advantage of the lack of intensity within our defense. Things didn’t improve much before halftime, allowing Lekic to increase Los Rojillos’ lead to 2-0.

My halftime report: ‘Very poor performance so far. It’s cold and the pitch is in terrible conditions, but it’s the same for both teams. Guardiola left Xavi, Iniesta and Cesc on the bench, bad decision. Possession is as usual (67%) but that only created 2 goalscoring chances. Concentration is lacking, especially in defense’

Guardiola introduced Cuenca and Tello during the break, adding much needed width to the pitch, speed and desire – Pedro was replaced as his first half was forgettable but, to his defense, it must be said PR17 is severely lacking playing time after his injuries.

Alexis converted the 2-1 after a great assist from Cuenca, but FCB’s hopes of a comeback were killed 2 minutes later after yet another defensive mistake. Another one too many, not for the first time away from the Camp Nou this season.

Tello managed to make it 3-2 but, as usual this year, when things get tough the referees always tend to favour Madrid’s interests – Today, disallowing Alexis’ clear goal.

All in all, a very disappointing performance which technically hands Madrid the La Liga title. A team who starts a game half-asleep (or frozen) doesn’t deserve to win it. Sadly, it looked as if Osasuna wanted the victory more than us. Plus, I still don’t know what Pep was thinking when he left Cesc, Xavi and Iniesta all sitting on the bench!!!

Let’s hope we can have our injured players back in time for our Champions League challenge…
