Isaac Cuenca represents La Masia’s success >> Culé Talk

Cuenca: ‘Each day I try to improve so I can help the team, and, in turn, become a better player’

Cuenca: ‘Starting against Milan? I just felt really happy, the truth is that I didn’t expect it at all. When I was told that I would be playing I was thrilled. Once a player knows he’s in the starting eleven, it doesn’t matter who you’re up against., you just think about doing things the best way possible to help the team’

Cuenca: ‘The only difference to my daily routine is that I play in bigger stadiums with more spectators, and now people recognise me more in the street, but my life hasn’t changed’

Cuenca: ‘As a Barca player, what we have done more than what is being talked about from outside. We’re dedicated to playing the best possible way and not thinking about other things. We’re delighted to continue making history’

– I must admit I was surprised when I saw that Pep had selected Isaac Cuenca to start against Milan. I had fully expected Alexis Sanchez to be given that role. However, I needn’t had worried. Cuenca played a good game and was a solid contibutor to our deserved victory. It remains to be seen how far Cuenca can go with Barcelona but he will be certainly be given his chance. If he is good enough, he will make it. So far, the signs are promising.

The number of La Masia products in the first team squad is a source of great pride for Barcelona fans everywhere, and especially those in Catalonia. Every player in the Barcelona junior system knows that he will get his opportunity to shine.

At present, players like Cuenca, Christian Tello and Mark Montoya are taking the first steps to possible stardom. They all know that if they work hard that they can make it. I wish them all the best in their efforts and hope that La Masia continues to produce the majority of our first team.

PROUD TO BE BLAUGRANA, PROUD OF LA MASIA!!!!
