Adriano Going Nowhere, Cruyff Wants Muniesa At Ajax, David Villa Eager To Return : My View On Today’s FCB News here:

Barcelona’s Adriano has revealed that the 27-year-old will not leave the club, putting an end to speculation regarding his future: “Adriano is very happy at Barca and will continue there next season. It was very difficult for him to finally arrive at this club and he will continue here. Furthermore, the relationship with the board is great. As is normal for a player with two years remaining on his contract, Adriano will be negotiating a renewal. But there is no hurry” – Good to hear. Despite not being the most spectacular player on Earth, Adriano can always be relied upon to perform at the required level. His strength and experience will allow him to compete with Jordi Alba, Dani Alves, Muniesa and Montoya for the fullback spots.

David Villa is rushing the last days of his holidays. Despite not having a clear date when he’ll be able to return to normal training, he has been working hard over the past months to get in shape in order to return to training with his team mates as soon as possible – Once Tito Vilanova discarded the need for a Plan B striker, it was clear that the only new forwards Barcelona may get this summer would be youngsters from La Masia. The return of David Villa can effectively be considered as a new signing. The Blaugranas missed his 20+ goals last season, let’s hope he can make the difference.

Johan Cruyff advised Ajax to complete the signing of Spain Under-21 international Marc Muniesa. However, Muniesa may not be interested in a move away from Camp Nou as he will have the chance to fight for a place in Barca’s squad during the pre-season, with Carles Puyol currently recovering from an injury and Jordi Alba expected to play at the Olympic Games – As long as Muniesa is loaned or transferred with a decent buy-back clause, I’m happy to let him go to Ajax. As things stand, playing time at Barcelona is hard to get and any possibilities to develop elsewhere must be considered if it benefits both player and club.
