Barca are more than capable of springing an upset at Man City

There’s no two ways about it: Barcelona were embarrassed by Malaga in front of their devoted Camp Nou supporters on Saturday, wasting a golden chance to pile more pressure on La Liga leaders Real Madrid. The Blaugranas’ sluggish performance, which led to a thoroughly disappointing 1-0 home defeat, definitely hurt their chances of overall success in the competition.

To make matters even worse, Los Merengues grabbed yet another away victory at Elche, 2-0 on Sunday, and extended their current lead to a considerable four points. While there are plenty of league games to be played before the end of the season, Cules would certainly not be particularly pleased if they were still trailing their historical rivals even if they won El Clasico on March 22.

Fortunately, Barca’s schedule is so hectic that the chance to get back on track will present itself on Tuesday, only four days after the Malaga disaster.
