Barcelona must improve in front of goal to challenge for treble

Barcelona secured a 2-1 win in El Clasico over the weekend in what could prove a decisive step toward bringing the Liga trophy to the Camp Nou museum at the end of the season. The 98,000 Cules who attended the match left the stadium chanting euphorically, bursting with pride after witnessing their team fight relentlessly in order to secure the three points.

Impressively, Barcelona ended their first crucial week of the season with two decisive wins in as many matches, having also seen off Manchester City in the Champions League. It is certainly reassuring to see how the players have stepped their performances up in 2015, especially after the difficult times the team had to endure in early January.

Luis Enrique deserves kudos for leading his team to qualification for the Champions League quarterfinals, then to a hard-fought victory over their historical rivals in the space of just five days.
