Luis Suarez, Lionel Messi, Neymar, Nili Perdomo, Luis Enrique | Top 5 Barca

Luis Suarez wanted by Inter Milan

Inter Milan are reportedly interested in the signing of Luis Suarez. The Italian giants, currently struggling to reach their traditionally high standards, would be prepared to pay the €120 million of Suarez's release clause in order to return to the top of Serie A as soon as possible.

Francesc Tomas' view: "There is simply no way that Suarez would even consider leaving Barca at this stage of his career. Playing alongside Messi and Neymar is a dream come true for him, a fantastic scenario to win silverware. WIth that in mind, expect Suarez to sign a new Barca contract, most likely until 2021, to be signed in the near future. I am looking forward to another Suarez masterclass in the match against Deportivo. I'd love to hear your thoughts on Suarez's future -- Let me know in the comment section below."

Neymar defends Messi from Argentina criticism

Neymar has once again defended Messi's status as the world's best player, explaining: "For me it's still Lionel Messi, he's the best. Messi is important for football, for Barca and for Argentina. La Albiceleste have a great team and will get back to winning ways, I'm sure. What's going on with Leo in his country also happened with me."

Francesc Tomas' view: "Neymar's insistence on signing Messi's praises in front of the media is a true sign of the respect the two Barcelona stars have for one another. Rather that self-promoting or trying to play down his teammate's achievements, Neymar remains humble enough to place himself firmly behind Messi's lead."

Nili Perdomo a realistic right-back option for Barcelona

Luis Enrique is seriously considering Barca B youngster Perdomo as a back-up option for the injured Sergi Roberto: “Players from the B team always help us."

Francesc Tomas' view: "Luis Enrique has always enjoyed giving youngsters a chance to prove themselves at the highest level, and it looks like Perdomo could be next in line for a shot under the spotlight. Luis Enrique's latest move can also be considered as yet another indication of how he would try almost anything not to ever field Aleix Vidal again. Let's hope we can find out the reasons for such behaviour towards his €18 million signing some day."

Lionel Messi back against Deportivo, confirms Luis Enrique

Luis Enrique could not be happier about the return of a couple of his regular starters: “The great news is that players are coming back, Samuel Umtiti and Messi. Lionel has been with the group since Wednesday, came back looking good, at a good level. When you come back from injury you need minutes, in training and in games. I'll speak to him about tomorrow, but in principle he's ready to play, as is Samuel Umtiti.”

Francesc Tomas' view: "If Messi had reached total fitness in training before returning to full action, then I would see no problem in including Messi as a late substitute against Deportivo. However, past experiences make me feel very weary about Messi's current availability. Fingers crossed!"

Luis Enrique dismissed talk of dressing room mole

Barcelona's tactical analysis for the Borussia Monchengladbach Champions League game was leaked, a situation that certainly did not impress Luis Enrique: “In 15 years as a player, eight as a coach, I've never lost confidence in people, I've never lost energy, it's something which happens inside teams. These things happen, but I never waste time with these things, they happen, I can't control them, it's not one of my objectives as a coach, so if you look at what some media do, I won't argue with that, people who know me know what's important and people can opine on whatever they wish.”

Francesc Tomas' view: "Having Luis Enrique's tactical analysis leaked out to the media can't bring anything positive. Confidential information should be treated as such and never be made available to the public. Much more care must be taken to ensure dressing room secrets are kept away from the public eyes."

"Your opinions are valued. What do you think about the Aleix Vidal situation? Do you see Luis Suarez moving to Inter Milan? Tell me about your thoughts in the comments below."

  1. What do you think about the Aleix Vidal situation? Do you see Luis Suarez moving to Inter Milan?

  2. Vidal should be given another chance, he's good as RM, he waited 6 months to play for Barca, and now being treated like this? I believe no other player will wait like Vidal and Turan did after seeing Vidal being treated like this.

  3. While I agree that Luis Enrique may not have been totally fair with Vidal, the truth is that he is not helping his case either by continuously starting rumours about his departure or posting criptic messages on social media.

Why Sergio Busquets' criticism of the Barcelona board is fully justified

Sergio Busquets is a player who prefers to stay away from the spotlight and do his talking on the pitch, ensuring Barca's engine continues to tick with his vision, positioning and charisma. However, in the rare occasions in which he decides to speak to the world's media, his words are loud and clear.

Following Barca's frustrating home defeat (1-3) against Real Madrid in the first leg of the SuperCopa, Busquets did not hesitate to demand much-needed new signings in order to reinforce the Blaugrana squad after the unexpected departure of Neymar:

"We try to improve the team regardless of the result of the Super Cup match. Those who come will be welcome. After Neymar's departure, we know that we need mostly offensive players, but we need to improve in all positions and aspects. With Neymar's departure evidently the team lost an attacking level, because you realise the footballer that is Neymar, there everyone will agree. About that we have Messi-dependence, in the…

Why the Barcelona board should be concerned about the #BartomeuOut Twitter campaign

Josep Maria Bartomeu is under huge scrutiny in recent times, and deservedly so. The humiliating 5-1 aggregate defeat against Real Madrid in the Spanish Supercopa was a terrible blow for Barca's morale but to think the club's problems are all a direct result of a poor result during preseason is far too simplistic.

Bartomeu, together with his predecessor and close friend Sandro Rosell, has brought Barcelona into a disheartening situation which not even the most pessimistic fans could have possibly predicted five years ago. Years of neglecting La Masia, countless signings that have struggled to make the starting lineup and the inability to connect with club members are only some of the reasons why the social media campaigns #BartomeuOut and #BartomeuDimiteYa have become a worldwide trend that show how concerning the current situation is.

We talked about the Bartomeu situation in much more depth, as well as El Clasico, Luis Suarez, Paulinho, Samper and Betis in our Episode 25 of …

Signing Paulinho for €40M is utter madness from Barcelona

Barcelona have signed Paulinho from Guangzhou Evergrande after paying €40 million for his transfer, as speculated in his release clause, according to multiple sources.

The Brazilian international midfielder, who would sign a four-year deal worth a reported €5M per season, would have completed a very unusual career path after being rejected by Tottenham Hotspurs in the English Premier League, then coming back to form in the Chinese Super League before landing at the Camp Nou at 29 years of age.

To say the signing of Paulinho is puzzling is a huge understatement. While it is disappointing to see the current Barcelona board struggling to bring world-class talent such as Philippe Coutinho or Ousmane Dembele to the Camp Nou, it is in fact much worse to see them having to pay the release clause of a player that has not been linked with any other major club in recent times.

Sure, it is clear that Paulinho has been a major contributor to the current leaders of the Chinese Super League but, h…

Philippe Coutinho's transfer request brings him closer to Barcelona

Philippe Coutinho has reportedly issued Liverpool with a transfer request, a move that can only be understood as the next step in his ongoing battle to join FC Barcelona during the current transfer window.

The Catalans are believed to have offered up to €100M for Coutinho but, given his importance within the Reds' squad, his current club has refused to allow his to leave for the current La Liga runners-up.

Both Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp and club owners Fenway Sports Group have publicly explained that Coutinho will be part of the Liverpool squad for the upcoming season regardless of how much money Barcelona decide to offer to secure the Brazilian's services.

Coutinho, clearly unhappy about the latest developments, has decided to take matters a step further in a desperate attempt to agitate the current situation and force a transfer to the Camp Nou.

Personally, I believe that Coutinho would be a great addition to Barcelona given his undeniable quality, experience in a huge…
