Luis Suarez wanted by Inter Milan

Inter Milan are reportedly interested in the signing of Luis Suarez. The Italian giants, currently struggling to reach their traditionally high standards, would be prepared to pay the €120 million of Suarez’s release clause in order to return to the top of Serie A as soon as possible.

Francesc Tomas’ view: “There is simply no way that Suarez would even consider leaving Barca at this stage of his career. Playing alongside Messi and Neymar is a dream come true for him, a fantastic scenario to win silverware. WIth that in mind, expect Suarez to sign a new Barca contract, most likely until 2021, to be signed in the near future. I am looking forward to another Suarez masterclass in the match against Deportivo. I’d love to hear your thoughts on Suarez’s future — Let me know in the comment section below.”

Neymar defends Messi from Argentina criticism

Neymar has once again defended Messi’s status as the world’s best player, explaining: “For me it’s still Lionel Messi, he’s the best. Messi is important for football, for Barca and for Argentina. La Albiceleste have a great team and will get back to winning ways, I’m sure. What’s going on with Leo in his country also happened with me.”

Francesc Tomas’ view: “Neymar’s insistence on signing Messi’s praises in front of the media is a true sign of the respect the two Barcelona stars have for one another. Rather that self-promoting or trying to play down his teammate’s achievements, Neymar remains humble enough to place himself firmly behind Messi’s lead.”

Nili Perdomo a realistic right-back option for Barcelona

Luis Enrique is seriously considering Barca B youngster Perdomo as a back-up option for the injured Sergi Roberto: “Players from the B team always help us.”

Francesc Tomas’ view: “Luis Enrique has always enjoyed giving youngsters a chance to prove themselves at the highest level, and it looks like Perdomo could be next in line for a shot under the spotlight. Luis Enrique’s latest move can also be considered as yet another indication of how he would try almost anything not to ever field Aleix Vidal again. Let’s hope we can find out the reasons for such behaviour towards his €18 million signing some day.”

Lionel Messi back against Deportivo, confirms Luis Enrique

Luis Enrique could not be happier about the return of a couple of his regular starters: “The great news is that players are coming back, Samuel Umtiti and Messi. Lionel has been with the group since Wednesday, came back looking good, at a good level. When you come back from injury you need minutes, in training and in games. I’ll speak to him about tomorrow, but in principle he’s ready to play, as is Samuel Umtiti.”

Francesc Tomas’ view: “If Messi had reached total fitness in training before returning to full action, then I would see no problem in including Messi as a late substitute against Deportivo. However, past experiences make me feel very weary about Messi’s current availability. Fingers crossed!”

Luis Enrique dismissed talk of dressing room mole

Barcelona’s tactical analysis for the Borussia Monchengladbach Champions League game was leaked, a situation that certainly did not impress Luis Enrique: “In 15 years as a player, eight as a coach, I’ve never lost confidence in people, I’ve never lost energy, it’s something which happens inside teams. These things happen, but I never waste time with these things, they happen, I can’t control them, it’s not one of my objectives as a coach, so if you look at what some media do, I won’t argue with that, people who know me know what’s important and people can opine on whatever they wish.”

Francesc Tomas’ view: “Having Luis Enrique’s tactical analysis leaked out to the media can’t bring anything positive. Confidential information should be treated as such and never be made available to the public. Much more care must be taken to ensure dressing room secrets are kept away from the public eyes.”

“Your opinions are valued. What do you think about the Aleix Vidal situation? Do you see Luis Suarez moving to Inter Milan? Tell me about your thoughts in the comments below.”
