Carles Aleña has had a fantastic week. Shortly after helping Barca B achieved the thoroughly-deserved promotion to Segunda Division A, the talented teenager agreed to extend his current Barcelona deal for a further three years. From today, whoever wants to lure Aleña away from the Camp Nou will have to pay up a prohibitive €75million release clause.
Given the hugely important role that Aleña has played in the Catalans’ reserve team this summer, it is expected that the 19-year-old trains with Barca’s first team even more regularly in the upcoming season. Learning alongside established, hugely experienced mentors such as Andres Iniesta or Sergio Busquets will help him grow not only as a player but also as a person.
