Jean Michael Seri: Yet another fiasco for Barcelona in shambolic transfer window

Jean Michael Seri, who has been linked to Barcelona throughout the whole summer transfer window, had high hopes of finalising his move to the Camp Nou before the end of the week. However, if reports coming out of the Catalan media are to be believed, the Barca board has decided to stop negotiations with the 26-year-old Ivory Coast international at the very last minute.

In what was yet another puzzling chapter in a disastrous transfer window to forget, it appears that the Barcelona board and managers decided against Seri’s signing just minutes after seeing him perform for his current club, Nice, in the Champions League qualifier against Napoli. A strange move, especially considering those in charge of Barca should have surely known enough about the player if they were so close to spending €40 million to secure his services.
