Why Coutinho is a game-changing signing for Barcelona

Philippe Coutinho has been confirmed as a Barcelona player after the Camp Nou giants agreed to pay Liverpool a reported €120 million euros, plus a potential €40M in variables. The Brazilian international, who will have a buyout clause of €400M, will sign a contract for the remainder of the current season and a further five. While the many months of endless speculation have been difficult to endure, the positive outcome of the negotiations have made it all worthwhile.

Coutinho, who could even attend the Barcelona-Celta match at the Camp Nou on Sunday, will add a much-needed element of creativity to the Catalans' attack. Whether it is still unclear where Valverde plans to play the former Liverpool star, it is obvious that his arrival is an immediate boost to a team that must now be even more determined to conquer the Treble this very season.
